Tamar Evangelestia-Dougherty
Tamar Evangelestia-Dougherty is an Associate University Librarian at Cornell University, whose responsibilities include the Division of Rare and Manuscript Collections and Kroch Library, Division of Asia Collections. Her previous positions include: Director of Collections and Services at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture (NYPL), Executive Director of The Black Metropolis Research Consortium at the University of Chicago (2011-2013); adjunct professor at the Dominican University Graduate School of Library and Information Science (2007–2013), where she taught “Archives and Collective Memory” and “Archival Administration and Practices”, and the Herbert H. Lehman Curator at Columbia University (2004– 2007).
Tamar holds a M.S. in Library and Information Science with Specialization in Rare Books, Archives and Preservation Management from Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science.
