In 2023 and 2024, six Book/Print Collective members will be artists-in-residence at Halden Bookworks, a book arts center founded by collective member Radha Pandey and her partner Johan Solberg in Halden, Norway.

Founded in 2019 by book artist and printmaker Tia Blassingame, the Book/Print Artist/Scholar of Color Collective brings Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) book artists, papermakers, curators, letterpress printers, printmakers into conversation and collaboration with scholars of Book History and Print Culture to build community, support systems. Our shared passion for book arts and the unique potential of artists’ books as vehicles for social change and racial unity grounds us. Our current and future collaborations across media and disciplines will continue to morph as our group grows and our connections shift and deepen.

We are over forty members strong.

Our most recent partnership is with Quarantine Public Library. Six members (Tia Blassingame, Tiffany E. Barber, Rejin Leys, Hong Hong, Alisa Banks, and Akua Lezli Hope) created instant books that include a guide to dismantling white supremacy, memorial to Black victims of racial violence, and lucky numbers for your pandemic dreams. These books with others in Quarantine Public Library’s collection are available to view and download on their website.
