I draw, collage, cut, sew, weave, and print with or on handmade paper. My work is informed by my religious upbringing, my Korean heritage, and my background in traditional Korean book and paper arts. I seek to integrate spirituality and materiality, traditional and contemporary techniques, East and West, into a piece that can be read, prayed, or held in the hand. My most recent work utilizes the technique and form of bojagi, Korean wrapping cloths traditionally stitched together by women during the Joseon Dynasty.
